One of the key lessons that I have learnt in this module is that it is important to know our true selves. We should always be aware of our own personal development in every aspect. From there, we would know our true capabilities. Once we acquire this knowledge, it would be much more easier to paint our own future which now could still be a plain white sheet. Above all, the one most important step is to plan everything out before making a move. This is the stage where the risks come in. However, what is life without risks right?
The tasks that were allocated for us to complete were very useful in order to know our true selves. For example, during the SWOT Analysis, I spent a huge amount of time to think about my strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats. In the end, I managed to get a complete and summarized list which I am very satisfied with. The career test was also quite beneficial for me. Yes, I have done many career tests in the past but I admit this time, the results are very accurate. Accurate results leads to a clearer explanation of what the careers paths that lie ahead for me. The Buddies Learning Style gave me the opportunity to share with my friends some of my learning techniques as an auditory learner and at the same time get to know what are my friends' secret recipe in learning.
The Smart Goal listing actually was quite difficult because it requires me to think a few years ahead in life. However, if there was no such activity, I would not have done it on my own. I would say the same thing for the reflective essay. As for the University action plan, I finally know what are the application requirements for the university that I plan to enroll in. Before, I only knew briefly about the details as I thought that I still have time, but now I know that time is ticking by so fast that I cannot afford to sit back and relax. The inspirations are actually a bonus for me because since small, I've been a fa of disney movies. Therefore, I would just need to recall my childhood memories and copy and paste them into my blog.

BUDDIES LEARNING STYLE
On 30th March 2015, we were required to form a group to discuss our learning styles. My group consists of six people. Two from group 1, three from group 4 and one from group 3.
From left : Ghaythree, Simran, Tuarshinni, Agnes, Amirah, Shaila and Megan |
Based on the VAK Learning Style Assessment, I, Amirah Haziqah binti Zamani from group 1, am a Visual learner. I find that this is a very accurate result. When studying, I like to make my notes colorful using different colored pens and markers especially to emphasize on the keywords. Sometimes, I would also take the time to draw small simple diagrams to enable to visualize. This would help me to remember something much more easily. I would also need to listen carefully to the instructions and explanations in order to understand something in depth. However, I am not the only visual learner in my group. These learning techniques are also found useful by Ghaythree, Simran, Agnes and Tuarshinni.
Whereas Megan on the other hand is an Auditory learner. She prefers learning something new by listening to her lecturers and repeating back those words to herself. She could easily remember facts when she hums it in a musical tone. Before exams, Megan would make flashcards for various subjects and use them to do last minute revision, reading the words out loud. Megan would also actively partcipate in group discussions and is not shy to speak up her ideas. Shaila herself is a Kinesthetic learner. Shaila remembers best through getting physically involved in whatever is being learned. She loves to do experiments in the laboratory where she can do something first-hand and at the same time continue to learn something new. She prefers getting her hands dirty rather than just reading books and listening to instructions. Shaila admits that she takes frequent breaks when studying as sometimes she has difficulty in sitting still for extended periods of time.
Everyone has their own way of learning. Some people can be an Auditory and Visual learner at the same time or maybe any other combinations. The recipe for success differs for every individual and that is what makes everyone so unique.

REFLECTIVE ESSAY
HEART-WARMING
AND VALUABLE VISIT TO THE ORPHANAGE
Description
Be grateful for what you have because
there are people out there who wish they had what you have. Sometime in June
2013, I volunteered with a few of my friends to visit Rumah Titian Kaseh at Tasik
Titiwangsa. We thought that the visit to the orphanage would be a new
experience for us. Moreover, we wanted to do something useful for those 2 weeks
of school holidays. There were around 10 of us who volunteered. With the
assistance of our class teacher, we managed to contact the orphanage and
confirmed of visit to see the children.
A week before our visit, we had set
up a booth nearby the school canteen for students and teachers to drop their
donations. We managed to collect stationeries, books, clothes, food and even
toys for the children. So many items were collected that we needed to ask for
extra help from our classmates to pack all the things nicely and presentable.
As
the gate of the home opened, we were greeted with smiling faces of children.
They all eagerly looked to see who had visited their home. Even more exciting,
those strangers had bought presents! Once we were given the permission to
interact and play with the children, we started to introduce ourselves and had
to open up their “presents”. After a few rounds of playing tag and hide and
seek, we noticed that the children started to approach us more confidently. The
joy radiated from each and everyone one of the children had touched me very
deep. I never knew that at such young age, they managed to build their own home
with lots of brothers and sisters. When we left the orphanage, it felt as if I
was leaving my own siblings behind.

Evaluation
The visit to the orphanage had taught me uncountable things, including
experiences about life such as being grateful and being genuinely happy with what
we have. Up to today, I am constantly reminded of the children who did not have
the opportunity to meet their parents. Being with the children had even taught
me to embrace
life and care for each other and to always be generous despite how little we have.
This experience had also given me a deeper love and understanding for the
children, particularly those who are abandoned, neglected, and orphaned. My new
perception of life: everyone has a chance to make a better tomorrow, so don’t
let life pull you down.
Plan
Spending one day at the orphanage was not enough for me. It is an understatement to say time passed quickly. When we realized we had to go, it was well after the time we had intended to leave. So, I planned with my group of friends to come back and visit the children at Rumah Titian Kaseh. However, after what we had experienced at the orphanage, we decided to not stop there and try to visit other orphanage homes around Kuala Lumpur. Yes, during the next school holidays, we did stop by at another orphanage home and it was us who seemed much more eager to meet the children, not the other way around!

Thoughts...
I truly agree with the career relevant traits. No matter how many times I retook the test, I would always get the same results. For me, it is a very accurate description of myself. However, I do not entirely agree with the career paths allocated for me. All the career paths stated above are actually the ones that I plan not to get involved with apart from child care. So, there is still a possible career choice for me which involves me working with children somewhere in the future. After doing some research, people with the ESFJ personality type are excellent providers of medical care. Combining the ability of providing medical care and the opportunity of working with children, it is clear to me now that my ambition to be a pediatrician is fit for me.
MY INSPIRATION
"You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think" - Christopher Robin, Winnie the Pooh
Sometimes in our everyday life, we might become timid and afraid of what we have to lose than
what we might gain. We forget about our true selves and our capabilities. Don't give ourselves
less credit than what we deserve because we are truly better than we might ever admit
"Today's special moments are tomorrow's memories" - Genie, Aladdin : The Return of Jaafar
Something special that happens today will not last forever. That special moment is something worth
taking special care to memorize because when, in the future when you look back on it, the
memory will give you great pleasure
"A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference" - Eeyore, Winnie the Pooh
Be patient with others and accept them for who they really are. Everyone is special in their way.
Everyone has their own perspective and their own way of thinking. When we care about other
people aside from ourselves, we will end up much more happier
"Oh yes, the past can hurt. But from the way I see it, you can either run form it, or... learn from it" - Rafiki, Lion King
Your past, even yesterday can hold a very painful memory. But there are always two choices.
To hide from it and leave it behind, which is often the weak choice. Or, face problem and you
see what you did wrong and choose not to do it again
"Venture outside your comfort zone. The rewards are worth it" - Rapunzel, Tangled
Comfort is easy. We fear uncertainty, loss, pain, and so we seek to cushion ourselves against the
rawness of life. However, it is important to push the boundaries and go out of our comfot zone.
With a little understanding and a few adjustments, you can break away
from your routine and do great things
